Die Tour folgt weitgehend dem Altmühltal-Panoramaweg. Beschreibungen gibt es in den Wanderführern von Esterbauer: Hikeline, Fernwanderweg, Altmühltal-Panoramaweg und Magentaverlag: Altmühltal Panoramaweg mit Schlaufenwegen.
Es ist in beiden Führern jeweils die Tour 6. Startpunkt ist allerdings ein Dauerparkplatz in der Nähe des Stadtbahnhof Eichstätt und trifft erst am Ortsende von Eichstätt auf den ausgeschilderten Panaoramaweg.
Abweichend von der Wegführung geht mein Track durch Walting und nicht oberhalb, was kürzer gewesen wäre.
Die Tour verlässt um an der Mmmuthöhle vorbei zu führen.
