Diese Tour ist ein "Must" für alle Rhönbesucher.
Tourbeschreibung im Büchlein "Hochrhöner, Extratouren". Vertrieb durch Buchhandlung Uptmoor, Fulda. Auch erhältlich in den lokalen Buchhandlungen.
Da die Tour stark begangen wird, sollte man nicht unbedingt an einem Sonntag laufen. Die Stille und der weite Blick, den man in den Abendstunden eines Werktages genießen kann, sind außer der seltenen Flora und Fauna etwas Besonderes.

Einstiegsmöglichkeiten mit Parkplatz gibt es an der Schornhecke, dem Basaltsee und der thüringer Hütte. Ansosnten gilt Parkverbot im Naturschutzgebiet.
