Von Pertisau aus fährt man bis zur Mautstation. Entweder mit dem MTB weiter bis zur Falzthurnalm oder Gmeinalm was von der Schneelage abhängig ist. Wenn die Mautstraße offen ist, kann auch bis zu den Almen mit dem Auto auf einer guten Teerstraße gefahren werden. Von der Falzthurnalm geht es für 5 km leicht ansteigend auf der Langlaufloipe zur unbewirtschafteten Gmeinalm. Nach der Alm geht es noch etwas flach in den Talgrund aber bald wird wird es langsam steiler. Ab ca. 1600 m verläßt man den Anstieg zum östl. Lamsenjoch und steigt das linkerhand markante Kar empor. Der Gipfelhang ist fast 500 Hm hoch (sieht nicht danach aus!).
