Start am Parkplatz Kreistanne an der Hallgartner Zange. Nach einem kurzen Stück auf dem Rheinhöhenweg geht es das Äppelbachtal hinunter zur Wickersheller Brücke. Der Aufstieg geht durch das Ernstbachtal. Vorbei am Ruhplatz und der Mapper Schanze geht es zurück zum Parkplatz.
