Die heutige Etappe orientiert sich an dem Radweg Thüringer Städtekette. Von Altenburg geht es Richtung Schmölln (Knopfmuseum). Die Durchfahrt durch das Sprottetal ist landschaftlich sehr reizvoll. Das kleine Flüsschen schlängelt sich durch urige Wälder und Stege. Die 1000-jährige Eiche in Nöbdenitz und der Ort Posterstein sind Zwischenstopps wert. In Gera und Ronneburg wird das ehemalige Gelände der Buga durchquert. Im Mühltal, hinter Ronneburg/Gera wo 9 restaurierte Mühlen liegen kehren wir gerade rechtzeitig zur Cafézeit ein, um einen Schauer zu entgehen.
