Die Wanderung beginnt an der Bushaltestelle Almbachklamm und führt durch diese bis zur Theresienklause. An der Theresienklause geht es weiter zum Dürrenlehen. Dort ist eine Einkehr möglich. Nun führt die Wanderung über den Gerner Höhenweg entlang hochgelegener Höfe oberhalb des Gerner Tales. Am Rabenstein führt den Weg ins Tal hinab bis zum Aschauerweiher. Hier kann man sich noch den Märchenpfad anschauen oder direkt nach Bischofswiesen weiterwandern.
