Start der Tour ist in Bormio und führt uns über den legendären Mortirollo, den Basso und Kollegen nur mit Frischblut bewältigt haben. Der Mortirollo hat es aber auch in sich, über ca. 13 km geht es auf einer kleinen Straßen steil bergauf mit maximal 20% und durchschnittlich 12%. Kurz hinter der Paßhöhe liegt eine gemütliche und preiswerte Bar (ca. 1 km hinter dem Paß). Im Tal geht es nun zunächst gemächlich bergauf bis Ponte di Legno, wo der Gavia auf uns wartet, ebenfalls sehr eng und teilweise ziemlich steil mit 14%. Auf der Paßhöhe kann man einkehren, muß aber mit deftigen Preisen rechnen.
