Die Levada da Rocha Vermelha ist die unterste der 4 Levadas im rabacal und liegt abseits des Messentourismus. Durch die zu bewältigenden Höhenunterschiede (vom Parkplatz Rabacal) ist die Wanderung etwas anspruchsvoller aber es eröffnen sich phantastische Ausblicke. Man kann am Umkehrpunkt der Levada weiter folgen und später zur ER 209 aufsteigen (steiler Aufstieg, wird auch "stairway to heaven" genannt)
Man kann auch den alternativen Startpunkt an der ER 211 wählen, und durch den 850 m langen Levadatunnel laufen. man spart sich dadurch den Ab- und Aufstieg zum Parkplatz Rabacal. Für diese Variante sind jedoch gute Taschenlampen zwingend erforderlich.
