Die Bergtour auf den Gipfel des Großer Knallstein 2.599m ist eine konditionell sehr herausfordernde Wandertour auf einem sehr gut markierten Wanderweg ohne Seilsicherungen und Leitern. Auf jeden Fall sollte man eine gut Fitness haben, denn die gesamte Tour dauert ca. 9 - 10 Stunden. Gute Bergschuhe sowie ein ordentlich gepackter Rucksack sind unbedingt notwendig, da es auf der Bergtour keine bewirtschaftete Almhütte gibt. Die "Großer Knallstein" Tour ist sehr erlebnisreich, da sie vom idyllischen Bergdorf durch die Vegetationszonen bis fast in die Gletscherzone führt.
