    You can either buy (very expensive) maps from Garmin e.g. TansAlpin, Italy Land Navigator or you can try o use free maps like the ones offered from www.openstreetmap.org or www.openMTBmap.org.

    With Garmin Edge the best format of the file to use offroad is the TCX format. TCX files can be started on the Edge 705 under Training and Courses.

    Sorry, but I have no idea how to write the answer in Italian.
