Route: Vom Deutschen Peter etwa 300m auf der Straße Richtung Loiblpass. Beim Haus Loibltal Nr. 7 zweigt der Weg 603 nach Osten ab. Man kommt zu einem trockenen Bachbett (nach 15 Minuten). Nun im Buchenwald aufwärts und auf den Westkamm des Ferlacher Horns. Über den Kamm durch lichter werdenden Wald, zum Schluß über Almwiesen zum Gipfel.

Mit Pkw oder Bus über Unterloibl zum an der Loiblpaß-Bundesstraße befindlichen uralten Gasthof „Deutscher Peter“ (702 m). Großer Parkplatz bzw. Bus-Haltestelle.
