Ausgangpunkt der Wanderung ist das Gasthaus Waldheim, über die Holzbrücke geht es Richtung Stallwies (Einkehrmöglichkeit). Von dort führt der Höhenweg Nr. 8 bis zur Lifyalm. Bevor man zur Alm gelangt wird umgekehrt. Sie stiegen bis zur Strasse herab und gehen auf dieser, Richtung Staumauer. Überqueren die Staumauer und folgen den Hinweisschildern bis Thial. Auf der Langlaufloipe kommen sie zurück zum Gasthaus Waldheim.
