Aufstieg vom Parkplatz in der Kehre beim Ampfertaler Hof in St. Magdalena, Gsiesertal. Vom Parkplatz auf die Skipiste und steil hinauf bis zur Abzweigung „Pfinnscharte“. Den Wanderweg bis zur Aschtalm (nicht ganz bis zur Alm). Weiter auf dem Wanderweg Richtung Pfinnscharte bis zur Pfinnalm. Vor dort steil, teilweise querend, über mehrere Rampen bis zur gut sichtbaren Pfinnscharte. Von oben einen sehr schönen Blick in die tief verschneite Landschaft. Auf dem gleichen Weg retour. Ab der Aschtalm mit dem Rodel oder Rennbockerl hinunter bis zum Parkplatz.
Vom Parkplatz bis zur Scharte ca. 2 Std. 40 Minuten.
