Die Rundtour um den Schafkopf beginnt an einem Parkplatz unter einem kleinen See und führt dann bergauf, parallel zur L514. Die Strecke verläuft auf ebenen, gut ausgebauten Forstwirtschaftswegen. Entlang der Wanderstrecke laden Picknickplätze und zwei Schutzhütten sowie schöne Ausblicke zum rasten ein.
