Vom Parkplatz entlang der Forststraße Richtung Bachlalm. Bei der Schaidlalm (Punkt 58) die Forststraße verlassen und in nordwestlicher Richtung am Fuß des Rötelsteins vorbei in die Ausläufer des Windlegerkares. Bei guten Bedingungen durch den Graben hinauf zum Sulzenhals (Punkt 59). Ansonsten noch ein Stück in das Kar hinein und dann auf dem Rücken zum Sulzenhals. Über den Rücken nordwärts zur Eiskarlschneid (Punkt 60) - Gipfelkreuz.

Von der A10 Abfahrt Eben nach Filzmoos. Noch 6 km weiter in östlicher Richtung bis zum Parkplatz an der Landstraße kurz vor dem Ghf.Dachsteinruhe. Alternativ auch über Schladming nach Ramsau und zu o.g. Parkplatz.
