Start in Dorfgastein vom Landhaus Johanna fährt man auf der alten Bundesstraße nach Bad Hofgastein, und biegt in Richtung Bahnhof ab, etwa. 100 m vor dem Bahnhof fähr man links - durch die Unterführung und folgt Asphaltstraße steil hinauf am Materl vorbei bis zum Gutshof Brandeben.
Von dort führt ein gut zu befahrender Güterweg bei dem man nach 4,8 km in Kere Richtung Biberalm rechts abzweigt. Mit dem herrlichen Bergpanorama der hohen Tauern und einer guten Jause wird man für seine Anstrengung belohnt. Zurück gehts es auf dem selben Weg.
