Die Tour eignet sich gut für eine Halbtagswanderung. Der Einstieg erfolgt an der Tillfussalm im Gaistal. Zu Beginn muss man ein paar Serpentinen bewältigen bevor der weitere Aufstieg über einen Höhenwanderweg erfolgt. Vom Steinernen Hüttl (die ausschließlich über den Luftweg versorgt werden kann) hat man eine fantastische Aussicht. Der Abstieg erfolgt über den gleichen Weg. Nach einer Brotzeit auf der Tillfussalm geht es wieder zurück, durch das Gaistal (beispielsweise über den Ganghoferweg), zum Parkplatz.
Neben der Tillfussalm liegt auch das ehemalige Wohnhaus von Ludwig Ganghofer, einem bekannten deutschen Schriftsteller für Heimatromane. Das Haus ist leider für die Öffentlichkeit nicht zugänglich.
