Vom Parkplatz folgen wir der ausgezeichneten Beschilderung zur Pettenfirsthütte.
Für den Rückweg gehen wir ein kurzes Stück zurück und dann links hinunter nach Zell am Pettenfirst. Vor der Kirche links und die Bundesstraße 2mal überqueren. Hier treffen wir auf den Ampflwanger Hausruck-Rundwanderweg, dem wir in nördlicher Richtung wieder zum Ausgangspunkt zurück folgen.
