Wildnistrail Heimbach-Zerkall (4.Etappe)
Die Wanderung von Heimbach bis Zerkall ist eine kurze, relativ einfache Etappe durch die Rureifel im Norden des Nationalparks. Die Etappe führt vom Nationalpark- Tor in Heimbach nach Norden. Direkt hinter Heimbach beginnt eine Wald- und Lichtungslandschaft, in welcher im Mai das Singvogelkonzert besonders schön zu hören ist. Die Wälder des Nationalparks sind die Heimat zahlreicher Singvögel. Neben den bei uns häufig vorkommenden Arten, bietet der Nationalpark auch seltenen Arten, wie Nachtigall oder Trauerschnäpper, eine Heimat. Es geht weiter nach Norden durch die Eichenwälder des Hetzinger Waldes und dann durch das stille Schliebachtal aufwärts bis kurz vor Schmidt. Von dort wandern Sie dann hinunter ins Tal der Kall und durch dieses zum Zielort am Zusammenfluss von Kall und Rur, der mit 175 m der niedrigste Punkt der Wanderung ist.
