Bodenmais ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für das Langlaufgebiet Bretterschachten. Es liegt auf ca. 1100 m - 1260 m un ist ziemlich schneesicher.
Von Bodenmais fahren regelmäßig Busse zum Bretterschachten.
Die Höhenloipe kann klassisch oder diagonal gefahren werden.
