Vom Parkplatz Pfarrau führt die Strecke ein kurzes Stück stadteinwärts. Bei der Pfarrkirche geht’s links hinauf am Fuß des Lebenbergs entlang zum Weiler Achrain. Über sonnige Wiesen und schattige Waldabschnitte führt der Weg in wechselnder Steigung und Gefälle westlich des Steuerbergs in einer weiten Schleife zum Schwarzsee, und an dessen Ostseite entlang. Von dort verläuft die Strecke flach über herrliche Wiesen geradewegs zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
