Die Tour startet in Lahnsattel - Donaudörfl und führt entlang eines Forstweges auf den Waldhüttsattel. Danach rechts weg entlang des Wanderweges am Grat entlang (Aussicht) über zwei Steilstufen zum Gipfelplateau des Schnalzsteins. Gipfelplateau meist windverblasen !Abfahrt südseitig zur Hofalm und weiter am Forstweg zurück zum Waldhüttsattel und am selben Weg wie der Aufstieg ins Tal.

Von St.Pölten über die B 20 und die B214 über das Gscheid nach Terz. Dort links auf den Lahnsattel. Am Ortsende links in das Donaudörfl abzweigen. Parzplätze ausreichend vorhanden.
