Der Rundweg A2 beginnt am Wanderparkplatz Nachtigallstraße und führt von dort vorbei am Schloss Steinhausen und der Zeche Herberholz durch den Stadtforst Muttental.
Einkehrmöglichkeiten gibt es im Schloss Steinhausen, Gaststätte Rauendahl und in der Zeche Herberholz (nur am Wochenende im Sommer).

Anfahrt mit dem Bus bis Haltestelle Witten Bommern Bahnhof (Linien 378, 379 oder 591). Von dort geht es ein Stück über die Nachtigallstraße bis zum Wanderparkplatz.
