Ausgehend vom Parkplatz an der "Villa am Bernsteinsee" bin ich zur Umrundung des Goitzesees aufgebrochen. Fast alle Seen im Umland von Bitterfeld sind aus gefluteten Tagebaugruben hervorgegangen.
Die Strecke ist fast vollständig asphaltiert. Lediglich im südöstlichen Teil der Strecke sind ein paar wenige Kilometer als geschotterte Abschnitte ausgelegt.
In der Nähe der Stadt Bitterfeld sind einige Abschnitte des Seeufers als Sandstrand eingerichtet. Dort finden im Sommer sicherlich einige Strandaktivitäten statt. Auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite des Sees verläuft der Radweg hauptsächlich im Wald.
