Der Mendelpass liefert an mehrener Stellen eine herrliche Sicht auf die (Apfel- und Wein-) Ebene von Etsch und Eisack bei Bozen. Man kann oben weiterfahren zum Gampenpass oder wie hier ein Stück zurück und dann eine tolle Runde um den Kalterersee. Zurück geht es die Etsch hoch wieder nach Terlano.
