Long uphill at the start. Then the beginning of the downhill after having reached the top is extremly technical with risk to get lost ;-) But you are in the middle of the nature and you will have to carry the bike here and there. And I reckon you can avoid towards the end to go thru Partenkirschen is going along the railways you cross after the ski jumping area.
