Der Weg entspricht nahezu dem Wanderweg A9. Es ist eine abwechslungsreiche Wanderung, die aufgrund der Steigungen leichte Kondition vorraussetzt. Gegen Ende der Tour kommt man an eine Kreuzung, wo man links hoch muss. Geradeaus geht der Wanderweg A3, wer noch eine Stärkung braucht kann dem Weg etwa 500 m folgen und kommt zum Wildgehege. Hier gibt es einen Imbiss, im Sommer sind hier auch viele Motorradfahrer zu finden.

Autobahn A45, Ausfahrt Lüdenscheid Nord. Links abbiegen und die Strasse hochfahren. Nach etwa 1-2 km kommt auf der linken Seite ein Wanderparkplatz, der auch ausgeschildert ist. Hier ist der Startpunkt.
