Die Gegend wird gerne im Sommer begangen, aber eine Schneewanderung hat etwas besonderes. Man scheut sich - wir begegneten nur einzelnen Wanderern - und das zu Unrecht. Es wird Abwechslung geboten, zuerst der Blick über die Rheinebene, dann Villa Ludwigshöhe, nach 1/3 des Weges geht es in den Pfälzerwald. Im Hüttenbrunnen, etwa auf halber Strecke, haben wir Rast gemacht. Danach schlängelt sich der Weg am Bach entlang. Aber es gibt noch die Rietaniahütte, die Schweizerhütte und die Hütte am Friedensdenkmal. Von dort starteten wir und kehrten noch zum Abschluß ein. Übrigens wurde das Denkmal früher Siegerdenkmal genannt...
