Die Strecke verläuft zum größten Teil über gut ausgebaute Waldwege. Sie beginnt und endet in Gönnern, verläuft über den Höhenkamm rechts des Tales nach Hirzenhain, ins Scheldetal, hinauf nach Tringenstein, zu den Wilhelmsteinen über den Höhenkamm links des Tales zurück nach Gönnern.
