Jetzt werden die Etappen etwas leichter. Nachdem wir den "Großen Beerberg" überwunden haben (leider hatten wir aufgrund des Nebels keine Aussicht ins Tal) gelangen wir zur Schmücke. Eine Einkehr ist empfehlenswert.
Kurz nach dem großen Dreiherrnstein erreichen wir die Rennsteigmitte. Hier wurde eine Tafel mit den exakten Kilometerangaben angebracht. Unser heutiges Ziel ist Neustadt am Rennsteig. Das Rennsteighotel "Hubertus" ist ein sehr gutes Quartier. Essen und Frühstück sehr gut.
