Wir folgen dem Forstweg für ca. 1,5 Km bis zu einer Rechtskehre, hier links durch dichten Wald etwas steil bergauf. Immer gerade aus bis man die freie Almfläche oberhalb der Waldgrenze erreicht. Hier wird es flacher und man kann den Gipfel schon erkennen. Man kommt auf den Sattel zwischen Saxner 2358 m (rechts etwas steiler) und Fleckner 2331 m links. Der letzte Anstieg zum Fleckner verläuft direkt am Grat, teilweise etwas steil zum aussichtsreichen Gipfel mit Kreuz und Buch.
