Kurzer, schöner (Firn)touren-Klassiker.
Es bietet sich an die Tour am Bergbauernhof Assing auf 1427m zu beginnen. Der Aufstieg direkt vom Tal aus (nahe Oberring) ist um 400hm langwierige Forststraßen länger.
Man folgt sinngemäß dem Sommersteig in Richtung Mahdalpe auf 1814m. Von dort ist der Gipfel bereits zum Greifen nahe. Trotzdem geht's dann noch eine ganze Weile entlang der Südflanke bis zum Gipfel. In den späten Wintermonaten ist der Südhang firnverwöhnt.
Abfahrt wie Aufstieg. Evtl. bei der Mahdalpe nochmals kurz auffellen und zum Grünkofel (1886m) queren. Anschließend kann man ohne Gegenanstieg bis nach Assing abfahren.
