Start ist der Bahnhof von Gernsbach. Von hier aus geht´s durch das Städtchen, am Zehnthaus vorbei Richtung Merkur. Mit schönem Blick ins Tal bis hinab nach Baden-Baden bis hoch zur Bergstation der Merkurbahn. Im Restaurant Merkurblick kann man bei gutem Essen den Gleitschirmfliegern beim Start zuschauen. Auf dem Rückweg geht es einen schmalen Waldweg, dem Zick-Zack-Weg, wieder hinab. Zum Ende auf direkten Weg duch Gernsbach wieder zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
