Von der Rudolfshütte geht es zunächst südlich um den Weißsee herum. Dann Einstieg in den Sonnenkees, der einfach zu begehen ist. Nach einem kleinen Schneefeld erreicht man bei 2950 den Grat und macht dort einen kleinen Lagerplatz. Der Aufstieg zum Gipfel ist mit II - bewertet. Oben angekommen wird man mit einem fantastischen Panorama (Großglockner, Großvenediger) belohnt. Auf dem Rückweg seilt man sich vom letzten Bohrhaken wieder auf das Schneefeld herab und erreicht den Lagerplatz. Über den Gletscher steigt man dann diesmal in nordöstlicher Richtung ab.
