Die Wanderung startet am Schlosshotel Gimborn. Zunächst geht es mit dem Wanderweg A4 ca. 200 m die Straße bergan und dann in den Wald. Im weiteren Verlauf geht es fast ausschließlich über Waldwege. Nach ca. 8 km ist ein Abstecher zur Burgruine Neuenburg und nach ca. 9.5 km zur Burgruine Eibach möglich. In Gimborn lohnt sich eine Besichtigung der Schlosskirche. Einkehrmöglichkeit im Schlosshotel.
