Startpunkt Baumgartnerhöhe (919m) Richtung Rotschitzabach, über den Klettersteig und den Weg 684 vorbei an der Mitzl Moitzl Hütte (1639m) auf den Grenzsattel (1730m) links der Grenze entlang bis man den Gipfel des Schwarzkogels erreicht (1842m) von dort den selben Weg zurück zum Grenzsattel und immer gerade der Grenze entlang weiter bis zum Mallestiger Mittagskogel (1801m) am Weg zurück rechts auf den Weg 684 abbiegen und steil bergab, tlw. auf den Karawankenwanderweg zum Rauscherbach, diesen überqueren und zurück zur Baumgartnerhöhe.
