Die gut markierte Bergtour auf die Hochwildstelle 2.747m über den Nordwestgrat, mit Ausgangspunkt bei der Preintalerhütte auf 1.656m ist 11,3 Kilometer lang und hat insgesamt 1.187 Höhenmeter. Besonders die letzten 400m auf dem Nordwestgrat zum Gipfel der Hochwildstelle sind nicht ganz ungefährlich. Trittsicherheit und Schwindelfreiheit sind dabei unbedingt erforderlich. Für Ungeübte ist die Tour nur bei trockenem Wanderweg und in Begleitung eines erfahrenen Bergführers empfehlenswert. Dafür wird man an schönen Tagen mit einer sehr schönen Aussicht belohnt.
