Die Wanderung startet an der Bergstation Meran 2000. Man folgt der Beschilderung zur Kesselberghütte. Die Tour beinhaltet einen Abstecher zum Kratzberger See. Der Weg dorthin ist ausgesetzt und wird zum Schluss recht schmal und folgt am Abhang entlang. Der Rückweg zum See entspricht dem Hinweg.
