Spektakulär beginnt der Traumpfad direkt an der Pyrmonter Mühle mit ihren rauschenden Wasserfällen. Ein stiller Waldweg führt hinauf auf die fruchtbaren Höhen des Maifelds. Dort wandert man durch blühende Rapsfelder im Frühjahr oder wogendes Getreide im Sommer. Weite Blicke zur Burg Pyrmont oder hinüber zu den Vulkankegeln der Osteifel prägen die Wanderung, bevor es durch das Naturschutzgebiet am Juckelberg wieder hinab geht in das wilde, waldreiche Elztal. Hinter der Burg Pyrmont taucht man ein in das „Reich der Felsen“ mit efeuumrankten Höhlen, steilen Klippen und malerischen Burg-Blicken.
