Neue Aufstiegsroute abseits der Skipiste auf die Hohe Veitsch.

Startpunkt: Alpengasthof Scheikl
Kurz oberhalb der Talstation des Sonnkogel-Schleppliftes quert man die Liftspur und geht in westliche Richtung zur Schalleralm. Nach 300m steigt man bei einer Straßengabelung direkt in den Hochwald hinauf (SCHILD am Baum und blaue Punkte). Die Anstiegsroute geht in einigen Kehren direkt dem Bergrücken entlang hinauf bis zum 2. Weg, dem man dann entlang folgt, bis man links hinauf auf den Sonnkogel abzweigt und dann zur Bergstation des Schleppliftes kommt. Hier trifft man auf die Anstiegsspur des Pistenaufstieges. Danach direkt über die Schaller in einigen Kehren hinauf bis zum Meranhaus.
GH Scheikl bis Sonnkogel: 36 min.
Sonnkogel-Meranhaus : 45 min.
Abfahrt über die Schaller zum Sonnkogellift und der Skipiste folgend bis zum Ausgangspunkt.
