Die Wanderung beginnt am Parkplatz Schöllerhof bei Altenberg und verläuft anfangs durch das Eifgenbachtal. Es wird die Eifgenburg passiert und es geht weiter am Bach entlang bis zur Rausmühle. Man folgt weiter dem Bachlauf bis zur Rausmühle. Nun wird das Tal verlaufen und es geht bergauf durch den Wald nach Dabringhausen, wo der Ortskern durchwandert wird. Anschließend wieder bergab zur Coenenmühle. Der Weg geht nun im Wald weiter bis zu einer Unterstellhütte an der wir auf einen Fahrweg treffen, der an Maria in der Aue vorbei, zurück zum Ausgangspubkt führt.
