Die Wanderung auf den Unternberg ist ein Muß für Ruhpolding Urlauber. Start ist die Talstation oder die Raffneralm. Die Ausblicke auf Ruhpolding, die Alpen und das Alpenvorland sind grandios und fast mit dem des Rauschberg zu vergleichen. Für Mountainbiker ist der Fahrweg auch geeignet, aber recht steil.
