Ausgehend von Filsch (Bolzplatz) über die Filscher Höhen führt der Weg hinab ins Ruwertal nach Kasel. Entlang des Radweges geht es bis nach Mertesdorf. Hier folgt man der Hauptstraße bis zu einer Eisdiele, wo man eine kleine Stärkung zu sich nehmen kann. Zurück über die Kaseler Weinberge nach Kasel, dort kreuzen wir unseren Hinweg und folgen dem Weg entlang des Weinberges in den Wald. Dieser führt kontinuierlich bergan und wird nach etwa 2 km etwas beschwerlich, allerdings nur für eine kurze Strecke. Er stößt auf den Wanderweg XV und führt wiederum auf die Filscher Anhöhe. Von hier geht es dann nach einer Gabelung parallel zum Hinweg zurück zum Ausgangspunkt am Bolzplatz in Filsch.
