Von Trieben oder Judenburg kommend nach Hohentauern auffahren. Von Trieben kommend durch Hohentauern durchfahren und am Gasthof Draxler vorbei. Nach ca. 700m rechts abbiegen. Auf Parkplatz vor Schranken parken. Der Forststraße vorbei am Forsthaus bis zu einem Hinweisschild "Bruderkogel" und von dort der Sommermarkierung bis zur Lackneralm folgen. Von dort in das Kar der Lackneralm und rechtshaltend auf den Kamm und über den Westrücken zum Gipfel.
Der Track markiert aber den direkten Anstieg durch die nördlichen Rinnen. Nur im Frühjahr und sicheren Verhältnissen diese Route gehen. Sicherer ist der Normalanstieg w.o. beschrieben.
Sehr schöner Aussichtsberg mit herrlichen Hängen. Bei Firn ein Traum.
