Die Tour auf den 2210m hohen Hahnleskopf beginnt in Kaisers beim Edelweißhaus. Es geht sogleich auf einem schmalen Pfad in den Wald zum Wilden Kaisers. Ab den Heupillen geht es entlang der Lawinenverbauung die steilen Bergwiesen hinauf zum Gipfel. Bei Nässe kann es unangenehm werden.

Von Steeg im Lechtal mit dem Auto auf der Landesstraße nach Kaisers. Während des Sommers ist der Ausgangspunkt mit dem Wanderbus erreichbar. Es sind einige kostenlose Parkplätze vorhanden.
